Teen REACH (Responsibility, Education, Achievement, Caring, Hoping)

Overview:

Quincy Teen Reach is an out-of-school program, that serves at-risk students from 2nd to 12th grade. Most students are living at poverty level and live with a combination of these

Our mission is to empower these students to achieve positive growth and improve opportunities for future success while reducing detrimental behaviors.

Teen Reach operates Monday through Friday during the school year and during summer. All throughout the year, these core services are part of our daily program:

  1. Improving educational performance
  2. Life-skills Education (i.e. hygiene, college readiness, sex education, etc.)
  3. Recreation, Sports, and Cultural/Artistic Activities
  4. Positive Adult Mentoring
  5. Service Learning (i.e. service projects)

Daily Schedule

During the School Year During the Summer
  • Picked up after school
  • Snack
  • Homework OR academic activities
  • Dinner
  • Life Skills or Recreation
  • Weekly Service Projects
  • Transportation home starting at 6:00 PM
  • Picked up from home starting at 11:00 AM
  • Lunch
  • Academic activities
  • Snack
  • Life Skills or Recreation
  • Weekly Service Projects
  • Transportation home starting at 4:30 PM

Special Activities

Over the summer, Teen Reach takes several trips to expose the students to many different experiences. Trips include:

  • Museums
  • Camping
  • Fun City in Burlington, Iowa
  • Kansas City,
  • St. Louis

Students get to experience fun and exciting activities that they might not have on a regular basis. Some of these activities include:

  • Team building games
  • Exploring museums
  • High ropes courses
  • Rock climbing
